DAY 01: GUWAHATI AIRPORT – SHILLONG (110 KMS / 3 HRS DRIVE)

Arrive Guwahati Airport ……..your gateway to the beautiful North East!!!! Our local office representative shall meet & greet you @ airport & you shall be transferred to Shillong. Enroute visit UMIAM LAKE - more popularly known as Barapani, this is the biggest artificial lake in the State. Surrounded by sylvan hills and wrapped in the beauty of an assortment of green Khasi-pines and the azure blue skies is the majestic Umiam Lake. Developed upon the reservoir of the Umium Hydro Electric Project, the Water Sports Complex provides a choice of row-boats, paddle-boats, cruise boats, sailing boats, water scooters and speed boats. DAY 02: Local Sightseeing @ SHILLONG

Morning after breakfast, local sightseeing tour of Shillong. Also known as 'Gleneagle of the East', it stands amidst pine groves and rhododendron trees at an altitude of 5,200 ft. above sea level. WARDS LAKE is among most popular tourist locations of the hill station. It is an artificial lake that is enveloped within a widespread garden. Also known as Polok Lake, the water body is located in the middle of the city. Along with the Wards Lake is a BOTANICAL GARDEN that houses an extensive range of exotic plants and flowers. DAY 03: SHILLONG – KAZIRANGA (295 KMS / 6.30 HRS DRIVE)

Morning after breakfast you shall be transferred to Kaziranga. Its Declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985 for its unique natural environment KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK is situated in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam. It is one of the last areas in eastern India undisturbed by a human presence. It is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds.

DAY 02: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE – SHILLONG (60 KMS / 2 hrs drive -One way)

Morning after breakfast, proceed for an excursion to CHERRAPUNJEE blessed with many breathtaking views of nature in her pristine beauty with cool springs, mind soothing waves of thick green jungle foliage, gurgling mountain streams finding their way through rocks, enthralling milky white waterfalls leaping into deep gorges in a thunderous applause to the record-breaking rainfall that resounds through the valley. Cherrapunjee has the distinction of being the wettest place on Earth, having the highest recorded rainfall, year after year.

Later return back to Shillong. Evening visit Local markets in Shillong (BARA BAZAAR and POLICE BAZAAR) for the best shopping experience.

Specialty shopping at Shillong: Bara Bazaar & Police Bazaar:- These markets also host the Iewdeh, the weekly local market. You can explore the markets for goodies that are locally produced like handicrafts, wooden items, bamboo artifacts and a very popular forest-made honey. Get your hands on some of the souvenirs typical to Shillong - hand-carved knives, Tibetan shawls, bamboo cutlery and artifacts. The Police Bazaar is known for its traditional Khasi silk skirts, called jain-sayem, also savour the locally grown fruits, Sayang and Saflang, which are wrapped and sold in banana leaves.

DAY 03: SHILLONG – POBITORA (110 KMS / 2.30hrs drive)

Morning after breakfast checks out & proceeds towards Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.It is a 2.30 hour drive through a road passing by River Brahmaputa, and a small portion of the village of Mayong. It has a dense population of the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros.Pobitora is running a successful Rhino breeding program within its sanctuary. Places to see in Pobitora include Haduk Hanging Bridge and GarangaBeel pond. Elephant rides and Jeep safaris are major activities which are held by management. Besides 1-horned Rhinoceros, the other animals are Leopard, Wild boar, Barking deer, Wild buffalo etc. 

On arrival check in hotel. Later evening jeep ride or elephant ride in the sanctuary. Evening back to hotel. Overnight stay @ Pobitora National Park.

DAY 04: POBITORA – BOMDILA (enroute TIPI)(304 KMS/ 6.30 hrs drive)

Morning enjoy elephant ride, expect to see 5-10 rhinos at close range. Also see a good lot of migratory birds. Back to hotel check out & proceed towards Bomdila. Enroute visit TIPPI ORCHID CENTRE – Arunachal Pradesh is known for its rich orchid flora and has more than 500 species of orchids. Check in Hotel on arrival at bomdilaBOMDILA- Hooked in the amongst the mighty mountainous ranges of Himalaya, Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh is a mini paradise, with its Apple orchards, Buddhist gomphas and a magnificient view of the Kameng Valley.

DAY 05: BOMDILA –TAWANG (169 KMS / 3.30hrs drive)

Morning after breakfast drive to Tawang.Enroute witness the snowcapped SELA PASS at 14000 ft it is the second highest motorable road in India and the JASWANT GARH MEMORIAL. Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee -Posthumous) of 4thBatallionGarhwalRifles, fought alone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place. Check in Hotel on arrival at Tawang - The beautiful land of the Monpa tribes with the “GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE” Monastery - one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia.The birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, the Monastery is 400 year old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. ‘The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains’ at 3500 mts gives you unparallel purity of nature.Overnight stay at Tawang.

DAY 06: TAWANG

Morning after breakfast, visit the MONASTERY - The Tawang Monastery stands on the start of a hill, about 10,000 ft above sea level and has ravines in the south and west, narrow ridge on the north and a gradual slope on the east. It offers an imposing and picturesque view of the Tawang-Chu valley. The monastery appears like a fort from a distance, as if guarding the admirers in the wide valley below. Also visit the WAR MEMORIAL - a 40 foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of Sino-India War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. Popularly known as NamgyalChorten, the memorial has names of 2,420 dead soldiers.Evening free for shopping. Overnight stay at Tawang

DAY 07: TAWANG – DIRANG (142 KMS/ 3hrs drive)

Morning after breakfast drive toDIRANG - Hooked in the amongst the mighty mountainous ranges of Himalaya, Dirang - boasts of picturesque natural beauties with snow wrapped mountains, roaring rivers, lush green valleys and its huge collection of flora and fauna. It is very popular for its hot water springs, sheep rearing farms and apple orchards. The hot water springs are considered holy by some who travel to them for a dip.On arrival check into the hotel.Evening free to explore on own.Overnight stay at Dirang.

DAY 08: DIRANG - KAZIRANGA (259 KMS / 5 hrs drive)

Early morning after breakfast drive to Kaziranga - Declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985 for its unique natural environment KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK is situated in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam. It is one of the last areas in eastern India undisturbed by a human presence. It is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds.

Later on arrival in Kaziranga, check into the hotel. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

DAY 09: KAZIRANGA LOCAL

Early morning go for ELEPHANT RIDE @ 5AM. This is one of the most enjoyed safari to explore the wide varieties of wildlife in the Kaziranga National Park. The vast area covered by the Elephant Grass can be best viewed when you are on an elephant's back. The elephant ride is best enjoyed in the early hours of dawn. Return for Breakfast. LaterJEEP SAFARI in the Central Range. Jeep safaris last for 3-4 hours. The main attraction of it is one horned rhinoceros with wild buffalo, Elephant, tiger a variety of deer, Bear, Python, and prehistoric looking monitor lizard. The Kaziranga wildlife is also adorned with the crested serpent eagle, Pella's fishing eagle and Grey headed fishing Eagle with a number of other Bird species like the Jungle fowl, Bengal florican and water fowl, goose, a large number of pelicans, Black naked stork, Snake Bird and so on.

DAY 10: KAZIRANGA – GUWAHATI (241 KMS / 4.30 hrs drive)

Morning after breakfast check out & proceeds towards Guwahati. Latervisit KAMAKHYA TEMPLE - Kamrup Kamakhya has been the seat of the powerful tantrik cult in India. Situated atop the Nilachal Hill in Guwahati, this temple is one of the 108 Shakti Peethas of the country. Rising to a modest height of 562 feet above the mighty river Brahmaputra, the hill on which the temple stands commands a magnificent view of the entire city, NAVAGRAHA TEMPLE - dedicated to the nine planets in the solar system this temple was built by the ruler Rajeswar Singh in late 18th century AD. Also known as the Abodes of Surya, the Navagraha Temple or the temple of the nine celestial bodies is located in the south eastern part of Guwahati, on a hill by name Chitrachal. It is a center of astrological and astronomical research, STATE ZOO - Spread over an area of 130 hectares, Assam State Zoo is the only zoo in India where a natural forest still exists. It is one of the major zoos of the country and boasts of a unique diversity of animal habitat. The botanical garden located within the same vicinity is called Guwahati’s green retreat. In the evening enjoy the RIVER CRUISE over the river Brahmaputra (Optional cost). The longest river in India, the Brahmaputra, runs through the spectacular scenery of Assam and is an ideal introduction to river cruising in India. Overnight in Guwahati.

After breakfast transfer to Guwahati airport / Railway station for onward destination.
