Day 01: Delhi

Day 02: Delhi City sightseeing [Delhi Monuments are closed on all Monday’s]

After breakfast, full day free for sightseeing visiting QutubMinar (Tower of Victory), India Gate (War Memorial), drive past the President's House, Parliament House and the Secretariat Buildings, Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Lotus Temple [Bahia Temple], Lakshminarayan Temple (a modern Hindu temple), the Jama Masjid and drive past the Red Fort. Overnight stay at Delhi. 

Day 03: New Delhi to Agra [235 Kms 4 to 5 Hrs drive] [Taj Mahal is closed on all Friday’s]

After breakfast, proceed to Agra. On arrival transfer to your pre booked hotel. Later day free at leisure for sightseeing visiting the world famous TAJ Mahal & Agra Fort. Overnight stay at Agra. 

Day 04: Agra to Jaipur [235 Kms 5 to 6 Hrs drive]

After breakfast, proceed to Jaipur enroute visiting the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri. On arrival transfer to the hotel. Later day free at leisure. Overnight stay at the Jaipur.

Day 05: Jaipur city sightseeing 

After breakfast, excursion to Amber Fort, the Old capital of Jaipur Rulers. Ride on the back of an elephant from the foots of the hill up to the gates of the fortress. Later visit The Maharaja’s City Palace Museum, Jai Singh’s Astronomical Observatory [JantarMantar] and Hawa Mahal. Evening free at leisure.Overnight stay at Jaipur.

Day 06: Jaipur to Onward destination

After b/fast transfer to the airport / railway station to board the flight / train for onward destination

The train comprises of 14 fully air conditioned deluxe saloons equipped with world class amenities to enhance the pleasure of travelling .The 14 coaches are named after former Rajput states matching the aesthetics and interiors of the royal past . ITINERARY

Day-1  Wednesday :   Tour Begins : 09.30 hrs.

 

New Delhi

 

Join the tour group for a day tour of New Delhi. Tour includes visit to the India Gate, Lotus Temple, Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb and more. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will be transferred to the Safdarjung Railway station, New Delhi where the guests are accorded a warm traditional welcome before the Palace on Wheels pulls out into the night ... for a week-long luxury cruise through fascinating Rajasthan.

 

Day -2  Thursday  :  Arrival 02.00 hrs. Departure 19.30 hrs

 

Jaipur

The first stop of Palace on Wheels is Jaipur, one of the most well planned cities of the world of its time. This capital city of Rajasthan, popularly known as the Pink City, was founded by Maharaja Swai Jai Singh II, in1727 A.D. To explore the city, an air-conditioned coach takes you to Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, which is a remarkable five storeyed building along the main street of the old city in pink splendor with semi-octagonal and delicate honey combed sandstone windows. This is followed by a visit to Amber Fort, eight kms. away, where rides on caparisoned elephants add to the ambiance. Shop forJaipur’s famous jewellery, handicrafts, carpets blue pottery and textiles. Near Ajmeri Gate is located Rajasthali - the only Rajasthan Govt. Emporium selling genuine handicrafts at fixed prices.

After lunch at a Palace Hotel, you are off to the City Palace, home of the erstwhile royal family. Right across the road from the City Palace is the Jantar Mantar, the largest observatory built by the Sawai Jai Singh II. The Luxury coaches will take you back to Palace on Wheels around 6.30 pm. Dinner on Board.

 

Day- 3 Friday :  Arrival 05.30 hrs. (Sawai Madhopur) and 16.00 hrs (Chittorgarh)

 

Sawai Madhopur & Chittaurgarh

 

One can almost sense a life of the wilderness, as the Palace on Wheels arrives in Sawai Madhopur, a city named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. After breakfast a visit is arranged to the Ranthambhor National Park, wherein are located the ruins of a10th century fort. This wildlife sanctuary is considered to be the country’s best for observing and photographing the activities of the tiger. The park, covering an area of 392 sq.kms. is home to more than 300 species of birds. The tiger, hyena, ratel, jackal and fox are among those constituting the carnivorous population here. Sawai Madhopur is known for its exclusive toys, ethnic ornaments and costumes. Upon return to the Palace on Wheels, you leave for Chittaurgarh, when one gets an opportunity to watch the colourful countryside passing by in the daylight.After lunch on board you are in Chittaurgarh. Images of love and valour; scars of battles lost and won….thrice-beseiged, Chittaurgarh Fort is all this and more.

 

Day- 4 : Saturday  Arrival 08.00 hrs. Departure 15.30 hrs

   

Udaipur

Arrive in Udaipur, the Lake City at 8:00 AM. It was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, after the Sisodia dynasty was driven away by the Mughals, in 1559A.D. Perhaps the two most beautiful sites of Udaipur are the dream-like marble Palaces-theJag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichhola. After lunch a visit to City Palace is exhilarating In the evening visit the crystal gallery. Later proceed to Jaisalmer on board Palace on Wheels

 

Day-5 : Sunday  Arrival 09.15 hrs. Departure 23.45 hrs

 

Jaisalmer

In the heart of the Thar Desert lies Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156A.D. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Discover the painstakingly latticed havelis or mansions with their grand facades. The Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are fine examples of the stone carver’s skillShop at Rajasthali-the only Rajasthan Govt. emporium, for fine pattu shawls, mirror work & embroidered articles, wooden boxes, trinkets, silver jewellery and curios. After lunch on board, go for an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam, before sipping a refreshing cup of tea.Enjoy the dinner and the cultural programmes at a hotel in Jaisalmer.The train leaves for Jodhpur at night.

 

Day-6 Monday : Arrival 07.00 hrs.

 

Jodhpur

Next morning the Palace on wheels is in Jodhpur, a city ringed by a high stone wall with seven gatesand several bastions. This second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. is known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. The grand palaces within- Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive examples of architectural excellence. Near the fort complex lies Jaswant Thada, and a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble.After lunch at a royal Palace hotel, return to the Palace on Wheels. 

 

Day-7  Tuesday  :  Arrival 05.00hrs.  Departure 08.45 hrs

 

Bharatpur

Day-7 Tuesday : Arrival 10.30 hrs Departure 23.00 hrs

 

Agra

Arrive at Fatehpur Sikri-the red sandstone Mughal palatial complex. Within the enclosure is a mosque built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar and dedicated to the Sheikh Salim Chisti, a muslim Sufi Saint whoblessed him with a son. After lunch move on from the Red Fort and arrive at the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world. A pristine monument of undying love. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal.
Agra is known for its splendid marble inlay work like the Pietra Dura work on the Taj, leather goods and jewelry.

After dinner on board and a good night’s sleep, arrive at Safdarjung Train Station, New Delhi at 6.00 hrs the next morning and let the pleasant memories of the past week linger on your mind For a long time

Day  01 : Delhi

Arrive Delhi ,  the Elegant capital of India, is situated in northern India and stands on the west bank of Yamuna River bounded by Uttar Pardesh and on the north, west and south by Haryana.. The city has its historical importance for the fact that it has been the home to Mugal Empire. Delhi, as described by the famous poet Mirza Galib, is "The world is body and Delhi its soul". Apart from its historical importance, Delhi also happens to be the political hub of India, Arrive & check in at the hotel . Later visit the Famous RED FORT .The Red sandstone walls of the massive Red Fort (Lal Qila) rise 33-m above the clamour of Old Delhi as a reminder of the magnificent power and pomp of the Mughal emperors. Day 02 : Delhi - Agra (203 kms /4 hrs)

Early morning proceed for Agra, Located in Uttar pradesh on the banks of the River Yamuna, the city of Agra is synonymous with the Taj Mahal- one of the Seven Wonders of the World, renowned for its beauty and historical significance. Apart from being an important capital city to the Mughals during their rule, Agra also finds mention in the Mahabharata, where it was called Agrevana- which meant "The Border of the Forest". It is believed that the city was founded by Raja Badal Singh, a Rajput king, who's fort Badalgarh, stood on or near the present city. DAY 03: AGRA- BHARATPUR- SARISKA DRIVE - (Distance – 210KM)

After Breakfast drive to Bharatpur with enroute visit Of Fatehpur Sikri, then drive to Bharatpur and some time free at Bharatpur bird sanctuary which harbours some of India's richest birdlife, including the gorgeous shocking-pink tinted painted stork, several species of cormorants, egrets, pelicans, ibises, cranes, ducks and geese. One can see over 350 species of birds, both native as well as migratory. Late Afternoon Drive To Sariska and Game Viewing. The Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary houses the ruins of medieval temples of Garh-Rajor that date back to the 10th and 11th centuries. Also a 17th century castle on a hilltop at Kankwari provides a panoramic view of flying vultures and eagles. The Sariska was declared a sanctuary in 1955 and attained the status of a National Park in 1979. Sariska park is home to numerous carnivores including Leopard, Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Hyena, Jackal, and Tiger. These feed on an abundance of prey species such as Sambar, Chitel, Nilgai, Chausingha, Wild Boar and Langur. Overnight stay at your hotel


DAY 04: SARISKA- JAIPUR (Distance – 117KM) 

Morning Game Viewing In Sariska Wildlife National Park and later return back to hotel and drive to Jaipur., the fascinating capital of the marvelous state of Rajasthan, is one of the well planned cities of its time . Jaipur was established by the then Maharaja Sawai Jai singh in the year 1927 . The graceful architecture of the city that that runs across in pink colour has earned jaipur the title of “ PINK CITY “ . Jaipur is predominantly known for its Musicians , Artisians & Craftsmen , It is also flocked by masses for its fine jewellery , varied textiles and sumptuous cuisine . This diverse land of rich cultural heritage is a royal treat for tourist all over the world . arrive and check in at Hotel .Early Evening visit the famous AMER FORT  , situated on top of a hill. The Amer Fort, 11 kilometers from Jaipur, is one of the most famous forts of Rajasthan.. This fort is also very popularly known as the Amer Palace. The Amer Fort was built in red sandstone and marble and the Maotha Lake adds a certain charm to the entire Fort. Though the fort is quite old and may even look so from the outside, it is beautiful on the inside and boasts of various buildings of prominence like the 'Diwan-i-Aam', the 'Sheesh Mahal' and even the 'Sukh Mahal'. The Amer Fort has influences of both Hindu and Muslim architecture.. DAY 05: JAIPUR DEPARTURE

After Breakfast check out from the hotel and  proceed to Jaipur Airport / Railway station to board flight / train for home destination
